About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practising Catholic to join the supportive, hardworking, and committed staff of St Dominic Catholic Primary School. St Dominic’s is a voluntary aided, one-form entry school with a nursery.

The school has been judged Outstanding in the Ofsted Inspection in November 2023.

St Dominic wishes to appoint an ambitious and innovative Headteacher for this rewarding role.

We are seeking a strong leader and team player who will nurture the children and lead the staff to excel. This person needs to be dynamic, collaborative and a practising Catholic. Someone who has the passion and vision to drive rapid school improvement, further raise the quality of education for all pupils and contribute to our local school Community.

We are keen to appoint a Headteacher that ensures the curriculum is a broad and balanced one, rooted in Gospel values. You need to be able to further build a culture of learning and aspiration that will see our children grow and contribute as active members of society.

 We want our Headteacher to:

  • Be a practising Catholic who demonstrates a strong, lived faith and deep commitment to Catholic Education and the Catholic ethos of our school.
  • Lead by example in our mission to shape our school community.
  • Be a confident, aspirational leader, with an ability to build successful and trusting relationships at all levels.
  • Put our children at the heart of all they do.
  • Be passionate, creative, and innovative, open to new ideas and a willingness to build upon our high expectations of teaching standards, pupil progress and learning outcomes for all in our school family, with a clear vision for continuous success and improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and governors.

We can offer:

  • Enthusiastic, considerate pupils who are keen to learn.
  • Committed, capable and passionate staff.
  • A happy and caring working environment, rooted in our Catholic vision and mission.
  • A supportive community of governors and parents.
