About the role

Hollybush Primary School is a truly inclusive school. We welcome children of all abilities and backgrounds regardless of how much additional support they need to access everything we have to offer.

All our children, many of whom have complex needs, make good progress and thrive in our therapeutic, enabling environment. We have an excellent reputation locally and receive lots of requests from parents of children with additional needs to attend Hollybush.

"The Nest" is a classroom where highly trained staff assess children’s needs alongside class teachers and our SENCO, design and implement programmes of support, and review the impact of interventions. Their work will centre on allowing children to achieve their EHCP targets and other personal learning goals.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have an understanding of neurodiversities including autism, ADHD and dyslexic along with knowledge of how to support neurodiverse children in the classroom

  • Can use basic Makaton or has a willingness to learn it;

  • Understand behaviour as a form of communication;

  • Work well as part of a team and enjoy collaborative problem solving and sharing responsibility for getting things done;

  • Are resilient and will advocate for our children in the face of - sometimes considerable- external pressure;
