About the role

We want you as our Year 2 teacher!

Are you passionate about children's learning?

Are you an inspirational teacher who can create a nurturing learning environment?

Maple Grove Primary School is at an exciting stage of its continuing development, building upon its existing successes and looking to grow. An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to permanently join Maple Grove Primary School as a classroom teacher from September 2024. We seek someone who is a reflective practitioner, a nurturing role model, and a positive 'can do' attitude.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a good KS1 practitioner with a passion for learning
  • have high expectations for all children, motivating and engaging them in the learning process
  • have the confidence to ensure the highest expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • support the leadership and development of a curriculum team
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • have initiative, imagination, creativity and a positive approach
  • be willing to contribute to the full life of the school

The classroom teacher will be responsible for creating a learning experience that enables and challenges our pupils to be the best that they can be. We seek to ensure that children have the best possible experiences with us, so aspirational and exciting teaching is encouraged.

Ideally, we seek an excellent practitioner with experience teaching Key Stage 1. We will develop every staff member who joins our team, providing one-to-one support, coaching and mentoring, and access to extensive network training.

The role of classroom teacher is rewarding, with the opportunity for professional autonomy to create an environment that enables development. We are heavily focused on ensuring that teachers' work-life balance is manageable; this is under regular review. This job is suitable for an ECT.

We warmly welcome you for a school tour, as we pride ourselves on our friendly, nurturing school environment. Come and meet our committed team and wonderful children!

Don't hesitate to contact the school office at 01442214966 or by email at sbm@maplegrove.herts.sch.uk to arrange a visit.
