Garden City Academy are looking to appoint 2 apprentice’s to join our wonderful support staff team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice in Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2. Hours are 8.30-4.30pm Monday-Friday term time only, paid in line with the UK Gov Apprenticeship rates.

Working with class teachers to support teaching and learning across the school you will be expected to:-

  • Prepare classrooms and clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils' work
  • Provide clerical/admin support, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, record keeping
  • Accompany teachers and pupils on out-of-school activities and take responsibility for a group, under the direction of a teacher
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
  • Listen to children read
  • Work with groups of children carrying out interventions

Please note that the job spec attached to this role is something you would be working towards during your training. You will be supported with your Apprenticeship studies by an external provider, and will be assigned a mentor by them as well as your in school mentor.  You will be expected to manage your time effectively in order to complete your assignments on time as well as carrying out your day to day duties.
