About the role
We seek to appoint an Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion) to support vulnerable students to be able to successfully access a full mainstream curriculum. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead our Inclusion and Achievement Centre and the strategic development of the SEND policy and provision. The candidate should have the ability to support all staff to understand how to fulfil their statutory responsibilities for SEND
The successful candidate will have:
- Worked successfully in two different secondary schools
- An exceptional record of being an AHT (Inclusion) or an exceptional SENDCo who is looking for progression
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the SENDCo role
- Ideally a SEND qualification
The school is part of the Government’s Priority School Building Programme. Work has started at the school on the creation of new buildings and improvements to the school layout including new science laboratories, teaching spaces and a new swimming pool, which forms part of the new sports complex including a sports hall, which will benefit students for years to come.
