Assistant Headteacher - Teaching & Learning

Apply for this job

About the role

Our current Assistant Head for Y5 and Y6 retires at the end of the school year. We are looking for a new Assistant Head to join our team in September to lead either of the two phases that make up KS2.

This is a great opportunity for any teacher looking to move into a leadership responsibility. You will work in an established and experienced team bringing new ideas and thinking to our leadership. You will lead a department with approximately 180 children and all the staff associated with that phase - teachers, HLTAs, TAs and lunchtime staff. The position is non-class based but we expect all our assistant heads to spend time with every class in their department, largely by providing PPA for their teachers. Whilst we have said this job would suit teachers looking at moving into leadership, don't let that put you off if you are already in leadership but are looking to work in a different school.

We are prepared to allow Covid-secure tours of the school which will be conducted by the Headteacher after all the children have gone home. Please contact the school if you wish to arrange a visit.
