As part of Nexus Federation, NHESC are seeking to appoint an aspirational Assistant Headteacher, based at both Bancroft in Hitchin and Briar Patch Lane in Letchworth sites.
The Assistant Headteacher will work closely with the other members of our strong leadership team to help shape and deliver the strategic vision for the Centre, continuing to build upon the successes of the NHESC. You should be a visible leader with a passion for teaching and learning, ambition for the students and the school, and have a proven record of accomplishment of effective and successful leadership. This may be your first step into senior leadership or you may already hold a leadership position either as Curriculum Pastoral Lead or Assistant Headteacher.
North Herts Education Support Centre:
The North Herts Education Support Centre is an Ofsted Outstanding Provider of educational programmes to support students who are at serious risk of permanent exclusion or who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school. The centre’s vision is to inspire and enable all students to achieve their full potential.
At KS3, the focus of Centre work is to re-engage the students with their learning and reintegrate them into a mainstream school or appropriate setting. The teaching team works closely with all stakeholders in supporting students who are experiencing emotional, social, behaviour challenges that are impacting on their school success.
At KS4, students are provided with an alternative provision where it is acknowledged that a mainstream setting is not meeting their needs. Students are offered a wide variety of opportunities for accreditation, including GCSE courses (OCR, Pearson, AQA) and several Vocational courses (City and Guilds, WJEC, BTEC, etc.)
The North Herts Education Support Centre’s success is built upon strong partnerships with schools and other services and most importantly, with young people and their parents and carers.
