About the role

We welcome applications from those of the Catholic faith, all faiths and no faith, and who are supportive of our Christian values and ethos.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust is looking to appoint an exceptional individual to join our Executive Team from September 2023 or earlier.  The new role completes the set of three key Executive roles that need to be in place for the successful growth and development of this Academy Trust; the COO will join the CEO and CFO already in place.

Established in September 2021, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust formed with eight schools from the outset.  All schools are strong schools, and the financial position of the Trust is equally strong.

The full-time COO is part of our strategic approach to increasing leadership capacity within our Executive Team. Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader to lead operational strategy across the Trust with a strong focus on compliance, communication, standards, safeguarding, estates management, including capital projects, and health and safety, as well as supporting our Headteachers to continue to deliver excellence through our nursery, primary and secondary provision. The successful candidate will work alongside the CEO and CFO to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory obligations and continues to deliver the strategic aims and objectives set out by the Trust Board.

The successful candidate will combine leadership experience of managing complex, multi-disciplinary and support functions with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. They will be comfortable operating at the most senior levels within an organisation, school or business unit and will be a first-class communicator, able to work collegiately, comfortable supporting and challenging senior staff including Headteachers, as well as working in an engaged and constructive manner to ensure the best possible support for each of the Trust’s eight schools.

We want to appoint a positive, highly driven and dynamic leader wholly committed to to making a significant contribution to the next phase of our trust’s development.
