About the role
Are you passionate about children’s learning, whilst providing a creative and engaging curriculum?
Would you like the opportunity to be part of a friendly and supportive team?
Do you want to be part of a caring school community?
If your answer was YES to these questions, whether you are just starting out as an NQT or are looking for a new challenge, then St Catherine’s may be the school for you.
We are looking to recruit a full time teacher from January 2021
As we are not currently able to offer visits to the school, why not have a look at our website (stcaths.herts.sch.uk) or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stcathsschool/) and allow our school to speak for itself. We can also arrange a telephone call if you would like to discuss any aspects of the post before applying. Please email or phone the school (01992 463214) to arrange a telephone conversation with the Headteacher.
We will be holding interviews at a time to be confirmed, to be convenient to us both.
At St Catherine’s we are committed to providing our children a curriculum which reflects their needs and interests whilst preparing them for the society they are living in. At the heart of our project-based approach is a key question to structure the term’s learning, which allows the work to be meaningful and relevant. This culminates in a public exhibition, providing opportunities for developing independence as well as building skills in oracy. Our class structure ensures that teachers work within a supportive team to share planning, resources and good practice.
We believe that children should be entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities, school trips and experiences which are testament to that. We believe that our curriculum should be aspirational and encourage the children to follow their dreams and talents whilst fulfilling their academic potential.
It has been fun learning about graffiti. Everyone’s art looks really good at the exhibition. I think we should all feel really proud.” – Year 3/4 pupil.
“ I could see how much effort the children had put into creating a wonderful exhibition. They were so well informed and were able to tell me so much about graffiti artists.” – Exhibition visitor.
