About the role
Bernards Heath Junior School has been an outstanding school since its last Ofsted Inspection in December 2009. We are a vibrant school, passionate about the quality of education provided for our children. The governing body is very much part of the highly motivated leadership of the school. We are looking for an efficient, well organised and skilled person (see attached Person Specification) to work with us to lead and manage the administrative responsibilities of the governing body team, as set out in the attached job description.
Early applications are encouraged as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
Applications will only be accepted if completed using the approved on line HCC application form. All sections of the form must be completed. CVs will not be considered. The post requires a full DBS clearance
Paid at £12.00 per hour. There are six full governing meetings a year. We would allow for seven hours payment for each meeting. The meetings are strictly two hours (7.30 - 9.30 pm); the additional five hours would be for admin in advance of, and after, the meeting. There would also be an additional average of two hours a week over 38 weeks (school terms) for admin of the governing body. Much of the admin could be done at home and some at school when appropriate. In total, we are expecting that the role requires 118 hours per annum, but flexibility would be needed should the role require additional hours.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. The Headteacher and Chair of Governors would be happy to show you around the school and answer any questions you may have about the role.
