We currently have an opportunity for a Curriculum Access Specialist within SEND Specialist Advice and Support.
You will work across Hertfordshire under the guidance of the Lead Practitioner (VI) and Specialist Advisory Teachers. You will work with children and young people who are visually impaired within school settings, providing direct classroom support and preparing teaching and learning materials. You will help pupils to develop their Braille and ICT skills. You will also train and mentor staff members in the skills required to provide appropriate, high quality curriculum materials and in the access of specialist technology. You will need excellent general ICT skills and have experience of successfully mentoring adults and children in a learning situation. Specialist knowledge of Braille and technology for visual impairment is desirable, but can if necessary be acquired through training while in post.
