About the role
The Governors of St Andrew’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to work with our new Headteacher to lead the school on the next phase of its journey.
St Andrew’s is an established, popular, successful and forward-thinking Church of England one-form entry village primary school.
We have an amazing team of enthusiastic children, hardworking and aspirational teachers as well as supportive and committed governors. The school team is passionate about the education of the whole child; focusing on their emotional health and well-being, their spiritual development as well as their academic progress and success. Inspiring a love of learning and an understanding of the importance of life long learning for all is at the heart of our school.
The successful candidate will:
- have the ability to lead by example, thereby motivating others to succeed at the highest level
- have a proven track record of excellence in the quality of Teaching and Learning
- understand the needs of all children as individuals and have an absolute commitment to inclusion, thereby helping every child to fulfil their potential
- have a passion for teaching and working with children
- be optimistic, forward thinking, dynamic and flexible.
We believe our children deserve the best at all times. Therefore we are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner (4 days) as well as a highly motivated leader (1 day non-contact time) who has a passion for children’s learning and enjoys the challenges and successes that school life brings.
For further details please contact the School Office on 01279 842626.
We are very proud that during the pandemic St Andrew’s has been open to our Key Worker and vulnerable children. From 1st June we have had a phased part-time return of children to school and now all year groups are in school on a part time basis.
At the time of writing we do not yet know what changes may be made for September 2020 and so we will make a decision regarding on-site interviews in September. In the meantime we are happy to give visitors a socially-distanced tour of the school. We want to reassure applicants that effective measures have been implemented to ensure their health and wellbeing whilst on school premises.
Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time.
St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced DBS and other checks in line with safer recruitment practice. We are an equal opportunities employer.
