Early years Practitioner
We offer a safe, stimulating, age appropriate and spacious environment for our children to feel engaged and supported. We have excellent indoor and outdoor facilities offering the children a place they can learn and thrive.
This role offers from 25 hours per week during term time, 8:45am-3pm 4 days a week + 2 paid admin hours weekly. Up to £11.00 per hour dependant on experience and qualifications. Starting date ASAP.
Our ideal candidate will:
· Hold a relevant Level 2 or above early years childcare qualification
· Have prior experience within a childcare setting
· Have a good level of understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding policies/procedures
· Have real passion, motivation and drive for working with and educating children
· Be enthusiastic, fun, creative and a good role model
· Have a commitment to self-development and be prepared and motivated to keep knowledge and skills updated
· Believe in promoting and building strong parent/carer partnerships to provide cohesive learning for the children
· Provide a clear enhanced DBS check and satisfactory referencing
· Have experience of, and a good understanding of SEN procedure’s and how to obtain finance
The role requires that you ensure: -
· The highest standards are maintained when providing care, implementing safeguarding practices and following Pre School policies/procedures
· EYFS/SEND standards are promoted, implemented and applied to your work
· Responsibility (alongside management) of health, safety, security and wellbeing of children, staff and visitors
· Participation in the key person’s system being responsible for a group of children including monitoring, assessment, up-to-date recording and reporting on their development and progress
· Children’s emotional and social needs are met implementing the principals and techniques for positive behaviour management
· The promotion of good personal and food hygiene with the children whilst encouraging independence
· Professionalism, effective teamwork, high quality practice, flexibility and the promotion of equality and diversity
· Activities provided are planned appropriately and are specific to a child’s/group’s activities, interests, language and cultural background supporting the individual’s development through learning and play
· The attendance of meetings, training (both mandatory and otherwise)
· The timely escalation of any practice/family concerns ensuring effective communication pathways between parents/carers and colleagues
· Effective partnership with management, colleagues and other professionals as required including family support workers, speech therapists, SENCO
