About the role

We are looking for an excellent EYFS teacher who is looking for the next step into leadership.  We have an interim phase leader job available at our lovely school (to cover a maternity leave)  from September 2021. We can offer you a bespoke training and development programme that will support you in this role. 

Within our Early Years Foundation Stage we understand and embed a play based curriculum to promote progress. Following the children's interests and developments needs is at the heart of our Foundation Stage.

We are looking for an Early Years leader who:

  • is passionate about children and  inspires them in their learning

  • is enthusiastic, energetic and hardworking

  • can monitor and moderate assessment data from a range of sources to prioritise improvements which will have a positive impact on children’s learning, progress and outcomes.

  • be able to contribute to the school development plan to review and drive the continued success of the phase

  • will model high expectations

  • will demonstrate consistently good or outstanding practice

  • can manage the day to day organisation of our EYFS stage ensuring all policies are followed

  • can lead, motivate, support and inspire staff

  • will manage new initiatives within the phase

  • will support parents to ensure they are partners in their child’s education

  • will ensure full compliance with the Trusts safeguarding policy

Salary will be main pay scale with a TLR2B however we will consider upper pay scale for the right candidiate.

You will work with other senior staff across the Trust, including other EYFS leaders, in a truly collaborative way. For those new to leadership, you will receive support from a dedicated mentor who will guide you through an excellent CPD programme which offers bespoke support and training.

When recruiting and selecting staff, the Trust is required to comply with all relevant employment legislation to ensure we are recruiting within the law as well as complying with the Trust’s Equality Policy.  The Selection Criteria document is critical in the process and sets out the requirements which the person appointed should have in order to perform the duties of the post satisfactorily and against which applicants will be assessed.  The selection criteria will be used throughout the recruitment process as an objective test of assessing candidates at shortlisting, test and interview stages. Shortlisting will be completed by assessing against the advertised person specification. Our interviews will always include relevant questions relating to child protection and/or safeguarding, and will usually involve a child centred task.
