About the role
Woodlands is a popular one form entry Community Primary school in Borehamwood, in SW Hertfordshire close to the boundary with Barnet. We currently have an acting headteacher and Governors wish to make a permanent appointment from September 2019.
We are an inclusive and friendly school where high standards are expected at all times and we aim to get the best from all our pupils. We place a strong emphasis on high quality teaching and learning in the classroom, but also provide a wide range of extra curricular activities and enrichment opportunities. Our school is well-resourced and we have a stable and supportive staff and governing body. We have been rated good in our last two Ofsted reports, most recently in November 2016. We have an associated afternoon Playgroup for pupils aged from 2 years 9 months run by a voluntary committee which was rated outstanding by Ofsted in January 2016.
Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational headteacher who shares our vision and can continue the success of the school. The successful candidate will:
Provide strong, visionary leadership to the school
Have high expectations of all children
Foster a culture of continuous improvement
Innovate and be creative in driving improvement
Inspire, motivate and empower all staff in support of these aims
Commit to the values of the school
Ensure that all pupils in our inclusive school receive the best possible educational experiences to enable them to flourish
If you would like an informal conversation about the post or wish to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the Chair of Governors, Graeme Franklin, via the school office, or the Chair of the Finance and Personnel Committee, Judith Sear, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
