About the role

‘We live, love and learn happily in our work and play as part of God’s family.

St Rose’s Catholic Infant School is an oversubscribed two-form entry infant school, with a thriving thirty-hour nursery, serving an inclusive community in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

As a result of our current Head obtaining a position in a full primary school after nearly five years of successful leadership, the Governors are looking to appoint a practising Catholic Headteacher with proven leadership and a clear vision to continue our journey towards excellence.

Our school has a very special, close family atmosphere and our pupils learn in an ethos in which all are valued, guided and supported by our mission statement. With the opportunity to focus on one key stage, our teaching staff are motivated and ambitious for all children regardless of their background or ability which has developed our strong reputation for supporting children with a range of needs.

We are a proactive and forward-thinking school who are proud of where we have come from.  We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Headteacher who will take us on our continuing journey, addressing the challenges that remain, whilst bringing their own identity and energy to the school.

You will be welcomed into our loving and nurturing school community, with delightful pupils, supportive parents and carers, and committed governors; ready to embrace and further develop our strong partnerships with the Parish and wider community.

If you think you have the passion and resilience to build on our strengths and strive for continuous improvement in our flourishing infant school, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We actively encourage visits to the school during the week commencing 5th September. Please contact Chair of Governors, Dr Sarah Kelly, by email sarahk@stroses.herts.sch.uk to arrange a convenient time or to find out more information about the role.

To apply please complete the Catholic Education Service Senior Leadership application form provided (CVs are not accepted) and send your completed application to leadership.recruitment@hertsforlearning.co.uk

When completing your application form, you should ensure that you address each of the selection criteria and provide supporting evidence of how you meet the criteria through reference to work or other relevant experience.

Please note late applications will not be accepted.
