About the role
If you have vision and ambition, this rare and exciting opportunity to lead our school could be for you!
Christ Church School is a popular, nurturing and inclusive one and a half-form entry primary school and nursery in Ware, Hertfordshire. We are a voluntary aided school and have very close links with our church, with which we share our name.
After 15 years of stable and successful leadership, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and committed leader to work in partnership with our experienced staff, the church and Governors to build on the school’s successes and to continue to drive the school forward. Our existing headteacher is retiring at the end of the summer term and we
are looking to appoint their successor to commence in post in September 2024.
Aiming high in faith, love and learning is our school’s vision with strong Christian values embedded in our work with children, parents, carers and families and in our outreach to the community. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, providing high quality learning experiences for all children. Everyone at our school is committed to learning, developing knowledge, skills and understanding so that all can flourish and achieve their full potential. We place safeguarding and the well-being of our children and staff at the very centre of all we do. Learning is through an interesting, relevant and exciting curriculum.
We are fortunate to have an excellent, experienced and caring team of staff who adopt a wide range of teaching approaches and strategies to meet the needs of all our children.
We seek an individual who is a practising Christian and fully understands the Christian distinctiveness of a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, showcasing proven leadership skills, strategic thinking and enthusiastic guidance. The ideal candidate should be a confident and creative decision-maker with a clear strategic vision for an exciting future for our school, dedicated to embracing, promoting and developing the school’s Christian values. They should be supportive, motivating, capable of inspiring a highly experienced staff team and possess a resilient approach to turning challenging situations into positive outcomes. Prioritising the wellbeing of all children and staff, the candidate must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and foster collaborative links with the church, staff, children, parents, the Governing Board and the wider community, while maintaining a rigorous approach to safeguarding.
We are a welcoming school whose children are keen to learn. We will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a warm and friendly environment alongside a committed and skilled staff team and supportive governing body. You will also be encouraged and given the opportunity to broaden and develop your skills and expertise.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring, resilient and committed existing Headteacher or experienced Deputy Headteacher to lead our school along its continuing journey of success.
