About the role
Fearnhill School are seeking to appoint two Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly hardworking team, for 27 hours per week term time, plus five training days.
One colleague will be based in our Student Support Centre working with our more vulnerable students. You will work with the Student Support Coordinator to arrange specialist provision, as well as working with individual students on a one to one basis and ensuring their support is delivered where needed.
Another role is for a learning support assistant based in our Inclusion department, supporting students with identified special educational needs. You will work around the school providing one-to-one and small group support under the direction of the SEND Coordinator.
The successful candidate must have a good level of literacy and numeracy and demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with students with a wide range of abilities.
Applicants need to have GCSE Grades A-C equivalent in English and Maths and be reasonably confident in the use of ICT. Appropriate training will be provided. These posts offer an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to gain experience in a school, if you are considering a career in education, as well as for anyone with previous experience in the role.
Experience of working with children is desirable but not essential.
