About the role
The Castle Federation’s two schools, Thomas Coram CE Junior School and Victoria CE Infant and Nursery School, are each looking to appoint an energetic and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA). Each LSA will support a child 1:1 daily, within a classroom setting. Every day will be different and the successful candidates will be able to make a real difference.
You need to be willing to work closely with the class teacher to adapt planning to suit the specific needs of the child. A calm, patient manner is essential, and experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs or SEND would be a distinct advantage.
Both schools in the Castle Federation are friendly, supportive and welcoming, Thomas Coram is a four-form entry junior school and Victoria a two-form entry infant school with its own nursery. Both have a strong and nurturing Christian ethos and are happy places to learn and work.
Our schools are committed to safeguarding and to promoting children’s wellbeing. We expect staff and volunteers to share that commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Both posts are offered on a fixed term basis, with the duration dependent on funding. Working hours will be discussed in more detail at interview.
