About the role
Creswick Primary and Nursery school are seeking to appoint a School Family Worker who has responsibility for safeguarding, welfare and child protection matters to join us at Creswick Primary and Nursery School. This is a dynamic and varied role whose primary purpose is to work proactively with parents to promote their engagement with their children’s overall development and wellbeing as well as helping to address any barriers the family might be experiencing.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will support and direct staff to safeguard the school community and promote pupil welfare so that pupils can thrive in a safe and supportive school environment.
They are responsible for effective liaison with external services and will provide support, advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding issues, take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of children.
To provide focussed family support to families with complex needs which improves outcomes for children and young people. The work with parents and their children will increase their skills, confidence and abilities of all family members to live their daily lives in a positive and safe way.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, good organisational and management skills, will have experience of working with parents and families and be comfortable working on a one to one basis with adults.
The role is term time plus two weeks, 37 hours per week.
