About the role
We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and creative teacher to work in our school’s SEND satellite base, primarily with a selected group of children with significant learning difficulties. This small group of children will be working separately from the rest of the school for the vast majority of the time. The children will need an early years curriculum focus. We can offer you a friendly and supportive staff team, with a child-centred approach to teaching and learning. You will work for one or two days per week to support these children, note their progress, and plan their next small steps. You will have the benefit of working alongside experienced teaching assistants and job share teachers.
This is a temporary contract initially until the end of the academic year and likely to continue to at least July 2025, until the children find places in specialist provision. There is a possibility that for the right candidate this role will continue permanently. This is a new and evolving role, and we would encourage you to come and visit our school before applying, please make an appointment through the school office. If you are unable to visit, please call to discuss the role with the head teacher initially.
Visits are encouraged. We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date if we find the right candidate sooner.
Please note we take safeguarding children very seriously and all candidates will need to have a DBS and vetting and baring check. You will be asked about Child Protection and safeguarding at your interview.
