About the role
Strathmore is a popular community school with our pupils at the heart of everything we do. Our Year 1 team needs a Learning Support Assistant to give one to one support to a child with additional needs. Applicants should have experience of working with infant-aged children in need of emotional and behavioural support. The school follows the Hertfordshire STEPs approach and works closely with the Hitchin primary behaviour support service. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, relating well to both children and adults, and have GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
In return we can offer:
A high quality learning environment with children who love to learn
Support from colleagues, parents, governors and external agencies
Training opportunities appropriate to the post
An opportunity to contribute to our successful and continually developing school
Hours are 20 per week term-time only, from 8.45am to 3.15pm, and the post is temporary until July 2022, or until the child leaves the school. Salary will be paid on the H2 scale, £18562 – £19312, pro-rata, according to qualification and experience.
If you would like further information about the post, or to arrange a visit, please email Hannah Isher: email@example.com with your name and contact details and we will be in touch.
Further information about the school can be found on our website, www.strathmore.herts.sch.uk.
We are fully committed to the safeguarding agenda and the post will therefore be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Any discrepancies regarding employment history will be followed up at interview. Previous employers will be contacted for verification.
