About the role
UPS/MPS • Required for September 2019
Full Time / Part Time
We are looking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and committed SENCO to drive improvement for all children, including those who have special educational needs, more able students or those who fall into a vulnerable group in our school. You will join a supportive, dedicated staff team and work with children who are keen to learn, well behaved and motivated.
The successful candidate will lead the provision for SEND and other identified groups of learners across the school, working with staff to ensure that children are given all the support they need to reach their potential.
It is expected that the post-holder will have previous SEND experience or will have the National SENCO Award. They will be able to demonstrate interest in all aspects of SEND and the new Code of Practice. They will have an understanding of the importance of working in close partnership with parents and other professionals, and a strong commitment to removing barriers to learning and building the skills for success for every child. They will provide advice and support to support staff in delivering in-class interventions and plan and deliver out-of-class interventions where appropriate.
Since joining the Scholars’ Education Trust (formerly Sir John Lawes Academies Trust) we have made significant strides towards being a good school and we are on an upward trajectory.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please telephone 01582 716910 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher, who will be pleased to show you around.
Further details and an application form are available from Central HR at email@example.com or on 01727 734424.
Closing date: 26 March 2019 9.00am
We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
