About the role

SEND Link Worker/Teaching Assistant

We are an expanding department, under new leadership and direction.  Our recent Ofsted report identified that the “Principal has galvanised the school into action, important and worthwhile changes are being implemented rapidly”.  We are, therefore, seeking enthusiastic and committed colleague(s) to join us in supporting SEND students across the curriculum.

This position would suit someone who is able to work supporting students in-class, provide 1:1 and small group interventions. Link Workers support SEND students to access the curriculum and assist in the coordination of this support between teacher, parent and school.

Haileybury Turnford is a five form of entry, 11-19 mixed sponsored academy that came into being on 1st September 2015.  Our new school has launched a change in aspirations, drive and standards of achievement for our students and the wider community.  Our exam results in August 2017 saw an improvement from our 2016 outcomes and are expecting another improvement in August 2018.

We are looking for staff of the highest calibre who are capable of making a positive contribution to teaching and learning at Haileybury Turnford.

The successful applicant(s) will have:

  • strong numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • experience in, or confidence in, delivering teaching programmes to small groups of students.

Our students will leave Haileybury Turnford knowing they have achieved their personal best and with qualifications that will ensure they progress confidently to college, university and employment. We will develop the knowledge, skills and leadership skills they need to lead successful, happy and productive lives. Our sponsor is Haileybury, the leading independent boarding school is 7 miles north of the academy and we are located a few miles north of the M25.

We have recently carried out significant refurbishment to our buildings providing us with enhanced teaching and sporting facilities.   We offer excellent induction and training to support professional development to all teaching and support staff.

If you would like to work in a school where students are well behaved and keen to learn then please apply to join us on our journey to becoming an exceptional school.
