About the role

We are seeking to appoint a SENCO (0.5 SENCO / 0.5 teaching FROM SEPTEMBER 2022) who has a commitment to providing excellent provision for, and experience of, working with children with different types of SEND. We are looking to appoint the right candidate, someone who holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordination and is able to implement the SEND code of practice. You will be part of the extended leadership team and contribute to the strategic overview of the school. We are an ambitious school with a vision that embodies the key statement from our mission:

Professional, approachable and caring staff will always be on hand to listen to our children. They will be part of a school community which nurtures and cares for their needs.

Our latest OFSTED inspection of January 2020 stated:

"Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. Adaptations are made where needed to enable access to the full curriculum."

If you are committed, enthusiastic and a good team player then we want to hear from you. You will work with a dynamic, committed team of staff including full time Pastoral and Parental Engagement Officer.

We can offer you children who are well motivated and keen to learn, supportive and friendly staff and spacious well equipped classrooms.  We are a well-resourced school, with an extensive range of computing equipment in each class.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

Parkside Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as other pre-appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2021).
