About the role

Job Title: Special Advisory Teacher 
Location: Hertford (covering East Herts, Welwyn and Broxbourne districts)
Salary Range: MPS/UPS plus SEN allowance pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 0.6  per week
Contract: Permanent

Integrated Services for Learning is a multi-disciplinary service comprising of SEND Specialist Advice and Support services, Access & Inclusion Services, Educational Psychologists and Statutory services.

A key function of ISL SEND Specialist Advice and Support Services (SENDSAS) is to ensure that the educational and developmental progress of children and young people (0-25), with a range of SEND, is met in line with the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy and Children’s Services strategic objectives.

The service is currently undergoing a reorganisation. There are now vacancies for Specialist Advisory Teachers for Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism within the service.

The post holder will carry a caseload offering effective high-quality advice and support to children and young people (0-25), their families and settings. They will model interventions, teaching approaches and strategies for staff in schools/settings, and will undertake statutory work as directed by Head of Service or Line Manager.

As part of Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) the post holder will work collaboratively with the Delivering Special Provision Locally (DSPL) Partnerships and other colleagues both within and outside ISL to promote early intervention and excellent inclusive practice.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience and skills in Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism who is well equipped to develop effective partnership working with schools/settings, parents/carers to ensure high quality provision for children and young people.
