About the role
Subject Leader for Maths
Are you SPECIAL enough to work with us?
Do you want our pupils, of secondary age with primary learning needs, to become excellent learners?
The Valley School provides an exciting and challenging learning environment for about 150 pupils who need our support because of their learning difficulties, autism or speech, language and communication needs. Aged 11-16, these amazing young people need the skills of outstanding practitioners to enable them to make progress, learn to believe in their own futures and to become independent and confident members of the community.
You will be able to build on an already popular subject in the school. You will teach all KS4 pupils and lead non-specialists in KS3. You will make maths exciting and challenging and practical. You will be kind, compassionate and efficient. You will also need resilience and a great sense of humour. As one of the year 10 team, you will be a tutor and a role model for our young people.
If you want to work hard, get back more than you give, explore how Expressive Arts can open up life choices and life chances and make a huge difference to some amazing young people, then this is the school for you. Can you answer “YES” to all of these questions?
- Do you believe that pupils are at the core of all decision making?
- Are you hard-working and resilient?
- Are you creative and solution driven?
- Do you have the skills to make and maintain strong relationships?
- Do you like a challenge?
- Do you like purple?
Please take some time to look at our website – it tells you a lot about us.
