We require for September 2019 a PE Teacher to join our very successful PE Faculty. The successful candidate will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 PE. In addition, you will be required to teach Year 7 and 8 Maths.
Salary: MPS including London Fringe allowance – an ideal post for Newly Qualified Teachers.
This is a fixed-term 1 year post in the first instance.
Haileybury Turnford is a rapidly improving school. We need a PE teacher, with KS3 Maths of the highest calibre to join our committed and talented staff team. This role will provide an ideal first post for a Newly Qualified Teacher with tailored support and mentoring. We have a 50 lesson two week timetable – it is likely that the successful candidate will teach around 10-12 hours of maths per fortnight. You will be provided with support as required to support teaching in both subject areas.
We have serious support from one of the country’s top independent schools. If you would like to make a real difference to our students in a very supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
It is an exciting time to join us. When Ofsted visited in May 2018 they were clear that we are making real progress:
“Improvements are increasingly evident, including in the progress made by the pupils. Leaders and staff have responded well to the challenges set by the principal and an incisive governing body.” (Ofsted)
“The sixth form is good. Sixth-form students attend well and are punctual. Higher quality teaching in the sixth form helps students to make good progress in academic and vocational courses.” (Ofsted)
Our sponsor is Haileybury, the leading independent school, 7 miles north of our school (a few miles north of the M25). It has recently provided significant extra resources to make sure we keep improving quickly.
There are excellent professional development opportunities to support your own personalised learning, and you will receive an employee benefits package.
We are an Equal Opportunities employer. Haileybury Turnford is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to employments checks and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake a satisfactory disclosure.
