About the role
Are you enthusiastic, flexible and committed to children's learning? If the answer is yes, we would love you to come and see us!
We have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to join our learning support team in our caring and happy school. Townsend is a small secondary school (650 students) on the edge of St Albans. The school is very welcoming with friendly staff and pupils. Although we are a Church of England school, there is no requirement for you to share our faith. However, we do expect all of our staff to understand our ethos and to support each other in working together to secure the best possible outcomes for our students. We would encourage you to have a look at our website to find out more about the life of our school.
Experience of working in school is an advantage but not essential. NVQ Level 2, or similar qualification, and experience of supporting children with additional needs would be preferred. There will be opportunities for training and career development in school. You will be an integral part of a friendly and committed team of teachers and practitioners. You must also be able to work on your own initiative.
We can offer the successful candidate:
- A positive and caring working environment
- A friendly, dedicated, and supportive staff team
- Excellent opportunities for career development
The post is for a fixed term period in the first instance up to July 2020, with a possibility of becoming permanent. The role is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only. Actual starting salary is approximately £13,563 + fringe allowance.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Therefore, the position is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
