Whether you are a Teaching Assistant, a School Business Manager or a Governor, HFL training could help you excel in your role (and give you the edge in your next interview).

Visit the HFL Education Hub Shop for the latest information and to book.

For classroom support staff, there is a wealth of training available in Hertfordshire, including lots that is free or funded.

The HFL TA Training Directory is a new online resource launched in September 2025 for Hertfordshire schools to find and plan professional development for Teaching Assistants (TAs). It's a collaboration between HFL Education, Hertfordshire County Council, and local DSPLs (Delivering Special Provision Locally). The directory lists available training sessions, webinars and e-learning resources, including those for SEND and inclusive classroom practice.

This includes the fully funded TA Academy, offered free of charge to Hertfordshire schools through our network of DSPLs.

  • Encourage progress at every level of need

  • Improve the wellbeing of the child, young person, family and staff

  • Ensure every child and young person feels successful and happy

Half termly online training sessions cover a range of topics and themes and TAs can simply sign up to each of the sessions they would like to attend.
