Description

The School was founded on the present site in 1912 by sisters Alice, Katrine and Mary Baird, who were passionate advocates of education for young women. The founding motto was Vie et Virtute and this spirit of strength and integrity lives on through our values, which underpin everything we do. Our ethos is one which is based on mutual respect and one where everyone is valued for their individual talents and interests. We welcome girls from all backgrounds and from a wide geographical area: the school thrives on the mix of girls who flourish in the friendly and nurturing environment we provide. We are very proud of our ethos. If you read our latest Independent School Inspectorate report, available here, you will see that we are judged to be ‘excellent’ in achieving our aims.
