Description

Cockernhoe Primary School is a Voluntary Aided Church of England village school in the North Hertfordshire Countryside, with a warm, caring ethos. We have approximately 100 children on roll; from the village and surrounding areas. There are four mixed-age classes, one EYFS, one KS1 and two KS2. Our most recent OFSTED inspection (November 2017) rated us as a good school.

The school is set in the charming village of Cockernhoe, sat at the top of the picturesque village green. The school prides itself on being part of a tight knit community, including the Parish of St Francis. Throughout the year we host events to bring the community together, including a Remembrance Camp fire Service, Carol Services, Easter activities and Cream teas.

Throughout the school year, every child has the opportunity to take part in Forest Schools.  The children have a genuine love of learning in the great outdoors; lessons in our outdoor classroom or our well equipped school grounds, pond dipping, den building, creating art with natural resources, exploring the surrounding countryside, visiting Bluebell Wood or the other fantastic natural environments we are lucky to have on our doorstep.

Anyone joining the school will become part of our hard working, supportive and united team with a real sense of fun.

We are always proud to show visitors around our happy school, so please contact the school office to book your visit.
