Maple Grove Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive community primary school located in Grove Hill, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. We provide high-quality education for children aged 3 to 11 years, including a nurturing nursery provision, serving families from our diverse local community.

At Maple Grove, we are committed to creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Our dedicated staff work closely with families and the wider community to ensure pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to achieve their best.

With approximately 210 pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, Maple Grove maintains a friendly, community-focused atmosphere where every child is known, supported and encouraged to succeed. Our nursery provision enables children to begin their learning journey from the age of three, building strong foundations for future success.

Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad and balanced education, supporting both academic achievement and personal development. Pupils engage in core subjects such as English, mathematics and science, alongside a wide range of foundation subjects including art, music, physical education and humanities.

Reading is a particular strength at Maple Grove, with a strong focus on developing confident and enthusiastic readers from an early age.

Through our teaching we aim to:

• Develop strong literacy and numeracy foundations

• Encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning

• Promote independence, resilience and confidence

• Prepare pupils effectively for the transition to secondary education

We are proud to serve a diverse and inclusive community, with around 28–29% of pupils eligible for free school meals. Our school works closely with families and local partners to ensure every child receives the support they need to flourish both in and beyond the classroom.
