Description

St Columba’s College and Preparatory School is an independent co-educational Catholic day school for pupils aged 4—18 in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We provide a high-quality education to young people of all faith traditions. Founded in 1939 the College has since 1955 been under the care of The Brothers of the Sacred Heart. The school is now composed of some 800 pupils across the Prep and Senior Schools, drawn from a wide area across North London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, including a Sixth Form of 120 students. At each phase of education, Prep and Senior, we nurture the key Columban qualities of ‘courage, courtesy and compassion’. We strive for academic excellence whilst realising that it is well-rounded education that best prepares our young people for the world and workplace of tomorrow. St Columba’s is known for its strong community values. We work in close partnership with parents to provide the supportive care and challenge for our pupils that will enable them to flourish. Through a Columban education, our young people discover much about themselves and the contribution they can make to society at large. This quality of compassionate service is borne out in the College motto of ‘Cor ad Cor Loquitur’ – ‘Heart Speaks to Heart’.
