Description

We are a Church of England (Aided) village primary school of approximately 175 children, aged 4-11. We are situated on the top of a hill adjacent to a beautiful old Norman church in St Ippolyts village, on the outskirts of Hitchin. We are proud of the warm, vibrant atmosphere in our school, with every teacher going the extra mile to ensure all children receive a rich, stimulating primary education. We have an excellent Governing Body, a committed and hard-working PTA and are well supported in the local community. We have a strong Christian ethos through which we value every member of our school community, children and adults, as a unique individual.  Buildings are a mix of old and new, the original school being Victorian with modern extensions greatly enhancing the facilities; the school is organised into five classes (some mixed year groups) and all teachers have the support of a Teaching Assistant. Our most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2023 found us to be a good school.
