We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to join our team of wonderful teaching assistants. The role will involve supporting learning alongside the class teacher and providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs.
Some administrative support will also be required (photocopying etc).
The post involves working for 31.25 hours per week from 8.30 am to 3.15 pm on 5 days per week, term time only and includes an element of lunchtime supervision. The salary is £17, 653 per annum paid across 12 months. This is a fixed term contract for one academic year in the first instance.
The successful candidate will:
- Be willing and committed to supporting children with additional needs as required
- Be a committed practitioner with high expectations of our children and of themselves
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and have the ability and dedication to become an outstanding member of our team
- Be hardworking, patient, a team player and have a sense of humour
- Be able to follow professional advice and implement appropriate strategies to support learning
- Be able to work on their own initiative and manage and organise their time effectively
- Be able to confidently communicate with parents, carers and class teachers to keep them informed of a child's progress
- Show commitment to the safeguarding of children
- Be confident to work with junior age children.
- Have strong written and spoken English and Maths skills
- Previous experience in the role of Teaching Assistant / 1:1 support is desirable though not essential.
