About the role

Are you a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated individual ready to make a significant difference in the educational journey of our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our supportive SEND team. This is a crucial and rewarding role where you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for children with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and deliver general in-class SEND support to ensure all children can access their learning and thrive within a vibrant mainstream setting.

The Role: Making a Real Impact

  • Hours: 5 mornings per week, 17.5 hours per week

  • Focus: Your primary efforts will be dedicated to supporting a child or children with an EHCP to fully access the curriculum, build independence, and flourish socially and emotionally. You may be asked to work flexibly across different classes and age groups as needed, providing individual interventions and support in class.

  • Contract: This post is temporary until the end of the Summer Term 2027 in the first instance, subject to funding. However, we are deeply committed to retaining excellent staff and are optimistic that the role will be extended while the children requiring support remain at our school and the necessary external funding continues.

We Are Looking For a Candidate Who Will:

  • Provide personalised and consistent 1:1 support for a pupil or pupis with EHCPs, meticulously following the strategies outlined in their plans.

  • Offer flexible, in-class SEND assistance to children with various needs, promoting independence and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

  • Innovate and create bespoke resources that meet the individual needs and interests of the children you support.

  • Act as a nurturing and vigilant key worker, ensuring all pupils feel safe, secure, and fully included in the learning environment.

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach, confidently working on your own initiative while also being an excellent, communicative member of our wider team.

  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism, allowing you to build effective, positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.

What We Will Offer You:

  • A Truly Supportive Environment: Join a caring, dynamic, and ambitious staff team that values every member’s contribution.

  • Exceptional Leadership: Work alongside a dedicated and highly supportive leadership team who believe in shared success and wellbeing.

  • Inspiring Pupils: Spend your mornings with enthusiastic and truly delightful children who are eager to learn and will appreciate your dedication.

  • Professional Growth: A genuine commitment to your professional development, with opportunities to build on your existing knowledge and skills within a progressive school where you can truly flourish.

If you are passionate about inclusive education and believe you have the skills and heart to support these key roles, we warmly encourage you to apply!
