Monitor the budget all year round, advising the School Business Manager where revisions or changes are needed, with a particular focus on Curriculum Departmental Budgets.
To act as budgetary reporting liaison with Departments, providing support and advice as required including half termly departmental budget reports.
Develop and implement the school’s fundraising and income generation strategy, choosing fundraising priorities in line with the school improvement plan
Find and apply for grants, charitable donations and any other relevant sources of financial incentive for the school.
To ensure the school is complying with the Financial Scheme of Delegation at all times.
To assist Katherine Warington Association of Friends (KWAF) on Fundraising efforts for the school.
To attend Resources, audit and budget committees and provide reports and advice as required (in place of CFO or SBM if unavailable)
Lead on procurement processes, managing tenders where appropriate, conducting due diligence, benchmarking and evaluating suppliers, negotiating deals and ensuring value for money
Ensure the Trust's compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including those relating to education, safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, and employment in conjunction with the School Business Manager.
Oversee the school’s Every Compliance Management Software and monitor compliance based on the information uploaded by key users of the software (Premises, Lettings, IT etc)
Track all school policies and ensure they are updated in accordance with the policy review schedule and are in a consistent house style/format in conjunction with the Head’s PA and School Business Manager and act as the Policy Manager for the School working with the Governance Professional.
Monitor and update the risk register in conjunction with the School Business Manager
To act as Risk Management Champion for the School. Creating and maintaining Risk Assessments as appropriate, and updating Risk Registers.
Develop, review and implement effective risk assessment strategies, including business continuity planning, crisis management and health and safety, to mitigate risks to the successful operation of the school and to ensure a safe and secure environment
To oversee Trip Risk Assessments, including individual student risk assessments (OV5’s).
To oversee H&S across the school, working with departmental curriculum areas with a focus on Risk Management and H&S best practices.
To deliver training to colleagues who are required to prepare Risk Assessments and seek to promote best practice across the School.
To ensure compliance with the Good Estate Management for Schools (GEMS guidance) and School Estates Management Standards and manage the Estates Management strategy for the school.
Work in conjunction with the School Business Manager to ensure the Schools Asset Management Plan is kept up to date.
Seek professional advice on insurance and process claims as necessary
To monitor the School’s website on a regular basis to ensure content is up to date and compliant with legislation.
To act as the lead for Sustainability within the school, working with the School Business Manager to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
