We're looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Breakfast & After School Club Assistant to join our welcoming team in St Albans. This is a highly rewarding role where every day is different, giving you the opportunity to help children learn, play and thrive in a safe, happy and nurturing environment.

About the role

You'll play an important part in delivering high-quality wraparound care by:

  • Planning and leading fun, engaging activities that support children's learning, development and wellbeing.

  • Creating a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.

  • Preparing and serving a light tea for the children.

  • Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

  • Helping to ensure the club runs smoothly each day.

Hours

  • Monday to Friday

  • 7.30am-9.00am and 3.00pm-6.00pm

  • Term time only

  • Additional hours may be available during our holiday clubs.

Salary

£10.85-£15.00 per hour, depending on age, qualifications and experience.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, caring and enthusiastic.

  • Organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team.

  • Passionate about supporting children to have fun and develop new skills.

A Level 2 Childcare qualification or previous experience working with children would be an advantage, as would supervisory or management experience.

It would also be beneficial if you hold certificates in:

  • Paediatric First Aid

  • Safeguarding

  • Food Hygiene

Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) would also be an advantage.
