About the role

Woodside Primary School- Class Teacher

An opportunity has come up to join us in our wonderful school and help us to shape the future of our young people.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational individual to join our special team at Woodside. We are a close knit team who value and support each other- working towards the common goal of providing an outstanding, inclusive education within a supportive and happy environment.

We provide a nurturing environment where everyone is encouraged to do their very best- “believe, achieve, succeed”- which includes staff as well as the children. We have children who want to learn, are happy, considerate, well behaved and welcoming. Our parent body is supportive and engaged with the school.

This was recognised in our very recent Ofsted report.

  • “A welcoming and supportive environment where pupils thrive”
  • “Staff hold high expectations for all pupils. “
  • “Pupils are motivated to learn”
  • “Strong relationships with staff ensure that pupils feel safe, valued and confident”
  • “School leaders are deeply committed to their school, collaborating with parents, staff governors to ensure pupils receive a quality education.”
  • “Pupils and parents hold the school in high regard.”
  • “Staff feel supported and valued.”

We are committed to continuing to reduce workload through the use of carefully chosen schemes, a minimal marking approach and the option to have PPA off site. We provide regular leadership time to enable extra responsibilities to be carried out. Staff well being is high on our priority- with an open door policy where staff are listened to by the SLT. We have a comprehensive Employee assistance programme available to all staff.

Within the next 2 years we will have a brand new school which will be environmentally friendly as well as offering us the best possible learning environment that we can offer our young people, while retaining our fantastic grounds and the ethos of our school.

The role will ideally be within key stage 1, but can be flexible, depending on experience and will be discussed at interview. The successful candidate will be expected to have a subject leadership responsibility, unless an ECT. This will be agreed after appointment, so please ensure preferred subjects and year groups are specified within the application.

For an ECT we have an excellent ECT mentor , who is supportive, approachable and experienced. ECT time covered in house.

Visits to the school are highly recommended and encouraged. Please feel free to call the school for an informal chat with our Headteacher- Caroline Ginty.

We reserve the right to interview before the closing date so early application is advised.

Ivy Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of our pupils and young people. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS and online social media check. Further information about the disclosure can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service.

Employment at Ivy Learning Trust is also subject to:

  • Satisfactory references
  • Barred list check (regulated activity roles)
  • Section 128 check (for applicable roles)
  • Overseas criminal records check (where required)
  • Identity check
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Evidence of qualifications applicable to the role
  • Confirmation of registration with applicable registered body where applicable
