AMillbrook Primary School

Start date: As soon as possible.
Salary: MPS4 – UPS2

Bonneygrove & Millbrook Primary Federation

Come and teach somewhere with heart, ambition and just the right amount of glitter.

The Governors and Executive Headteacher of Millbrook Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational, creative and dedicated Class Teacher to join our brilliant team as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who wants more than just a classroom. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a school with energy, warmth, ambition and a genuine commitment to making a difference. Someone who loves teaching, believes in children, enjoys working as part of a team and can still smile when the glue sticks mysteriously disappear for the third time in one morning.

Millbrook is a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious primary school in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. As part of the Bonneygrove & Millbrook Primary Federation, we benefit from shared expertise, strong leadership support, professional development and a collaborative culture where staff are valued and encouraged to grow.

Our vision is simple:

A nurturing, ambitious school where every child succeeds.

We are on an exciting journey of improvement, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey — someone with enthusiasm, creativity, high expectations and a real passion for helping children flourish.

Why Millbrook?

Because this is a school with momentum.

At Millbrook, you will find enthusiastic children, supportive colleagues, strong leadership and a team who care deeply about doing the very best for every pupil. We are ambitious, but we are also human. We work hard, laugh often, support one another and know that great schools are built by great people working together.

We are proud to be part of a Federation where children and adults work together with high expectations, shared values and a commitment to excellence. Our values — Resilience, Honesty, Ambition, Creativity, Kindness and Inclusion — shape how we teach, lead, support and grow.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner

  • Has high expectations for all children

  • Is creative, reflective and enthusiastic

  • Can inspire pupils and help them make strong progress

  • Works well as part of a team

  • Is committed to inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners

  • Has a passion for raising standards

  • Can bring energy, warmth and positivity to school life

  • Is resilient, solution-focused and willing to keep learning

  • Wants to be part of something exciting

We can offer you:

  • A school with a strong ethos, clear vision and shared values

  • A supportive and ambitious leadership team

  • The opportunity to be part of a growing and dedicated Federation team

  • Highly enthusiastic and motivated children

  • Happy, hardworking and skilled colleagues

  • A developed curriculum that continues to evolve with the needs of our cohorts

  • Support from experienced leaders

  • Networking opportunities within Hertfordshire and local schools

  • Exciting opportunities for career development

  • Opportunities for PPA to be taken off site

  • A school where staff are valued, supported and encouraged to grow

And yes, there will be wet plays, mystery jumpers, missing pencils and the occasional “I forgot to tell you…” at 3:12pm. But there will also be joy, teamwork, laughter, progress and the privilege of helping children become confident, successful and resilient learners.

Come and see us

We warmly encourage visits to the school. Come and meet the team, see the school in action and find out what makes Millbrook such a special place to work.

If you feel you have the experience, creativity and drive to join our amazing team, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: We may interview and appoint before the application deadline, so early applications are encouraged.

Safeguarding Statement

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and shortlisted candidates will be asked to share any relevant criminal history prior to interview.

The successful applicant will also be subject to enhanced DBS and barred list checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
