About the role
Do you want to be part of a positive, happy and enthusiastic school team? Do you want to work in a school that aims high, is growing and moving at a rapid pace? Are you a team player who is willing to develop and grow? Do you want to be a teaching assistant who is trusted and supported to help children make progress? If the answer to all of the above is yes, then you have the qualities that we need.
We have an amazing teaching team who place children at the heart of all we do. We pride ourselves on knowing each child individually and appreciate what makes each individual unique. We are passionate that every learner at Hormead will be the very best they can be both academically and socially and all adults have nothing but the highest expectations. The children at Hormead are delightful: they are caring, fun-loving and want to learn.
We are looking to appoint teaching assistant to enhance our team. You will work with teachers to support individual children, or small groups within a classroom setting and sometimes may be asked to support children in another class. The role may also require you to provide cover for class teachers when they are not in the room, this will be under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher and only when you feel comfortable to do so.
We are not specifying any particular skills or level of experience as we are keen to recruit the right person to join our team and are willing to train you if needed. What we require most is someone who is committed to working every day during the school term to support the needs of children and build good working relationships with the children to foster a love for learning. So, whether you are a highly qualified teaching assistant or someone who feels they have what it takes to be a great one, we would like to hear from you. We always endeavour to utilise the talents of our staff team. An interest in supporting the development of a high quality and engaging curriculum would be most welcomed.
Ideally, we would like to fill this position as soon as possible but have the opportunity to be flexible with the details of this appointment as we are keen to recruit the right person for our school. Likewise, once we have found a suitable person, we may close the advert earlier.
We can offer:
• An approachable and supportive leadership team
• A friendly, dedicated, and supportive staff team, committed to continuous improvement,
• Delightful and well-behaved children with supportive parents,
• A well-resourced working environment
• Opportunities for professional development at all levels
• Feel good Fridays!
This is a full-time position for 8.30am – 3.15pm Monday to Friday, term time only.
We actively encourage visits to look around our school and to meet staff and children. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit to discuss this role. You can email us at office@hormead.herts.sch.uk or phone us on 01763 289201
