About Our School
Are you looking to make a real difference in a brand-new, purpose-built educational environment? We are a vibrant new SEN school in Ware, proudly supporting 210 fantastic pupils. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable School Cleaner to join our supportive team and help us maintain a sparkling, safe, and welcoming environment for our children and staff.
The Role
Working under the direction of the site team, you will undertake daily cleaning duties to ensure the highest standards of hygiene throughout the school premises.
Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning allocated areas (classrooms, corridors, and staff areas) to specified standards.
Cleaning and replenishing toilet areas (stocking soap, towels, and materials).
Safely operating domestic and industrial cleaning equipment (following full training).
Storing materials and equipment safely and securely.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and reporting any hazards.
Disposing of waste and rubbish correctly.
Undertaking specialised deep-cleaning programmes during school closures.
About You
We are looking for a punctual, reliable, and flexible individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a safe environment for our SEN pupils.
Essential Criteria:
Skills: Excellent teamwork, listening skills, and clear communication.
Knowledge: An awareness of COSHH and Manual Handling guidelines is highly desirable.
Values: A strong understanding of, and alignment with, our school’s ethos, vision, and values.
Travel: Due to our beautiful, semi-rural location, a full UK driving licence or a reliable means of independent transport is essential.
Safeguarding: A commitment to keeping children safe. You must be willing to undertake a Staff Certificate in Safeguarding (KCSIE)—full training will be provided.
