About the role
We are looking for a clerk for our Governing Body. The successful candidate will have good minute taking skills and the ability to communicate effectively, work under pressure and meet deadlines. An understanding of the legislation and practice of school governing bodies would be desirable, but not essential.
The Clerk will report to the Headteacher and to the Chair of Governors. The Clerk will be responsible for advising the Governing Body on constitutional matters and its duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The post holder will help to secure the continuity of Governing Body business and observe strict confidentiality requirements.
Hours: Approximately 10 meetings per year, held in the evenings.
Payment:The post holder will be paid £15 per hour for the duration of each meeting, to the nearest 15 minutes, plus an additional 3 hours per meeting for preparation, drafting minutes etc.
