About the role

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to children's lives while developing your own skills and career?

Woodfield School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team, supporting pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. This is far more than a supervisory role – you will help pupils develop communication, independence, social skills and confidence through meaningful interactions, structured activities and positive relationships.

Why join Woodfield School?

At Woodfield, we invest in our staff because we know they are the key to our pupils' success.

We offer:

  • Weekly paid training and professional development.

  • Extensive SEND-specific training, including communication, behaviour, safeguarding and manual handling.

  • Opportunities to gain specialist skills working alongside experienced teachers and therapists.

  • A supportive and friendly team where everyone is valued.

  • Clear opportunities for career progression into wider Teaching Assistant roles and other education careers.

  • A chance to make a real difference to children with additional needs every single day.

About the role

You will:

  • Support pupils during mealtimes and learning activities.

  • Encourage communication, independence and social interaction.

  • Help create a positive, safe and engaging experience.

  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals as part of a highly supportive team.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence and life skills.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, patient and enthusiastic.

  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

  • Willing to learn and develop through ongoing training.

  • Resilient, adaptable and keen to make a lasting difference.

Previous experience in education or SEND is welcomed but is not essential. We are looking for people with the right values and attitude—we can provide the specialist training.

If you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, where you'll be supported to grow professionally, and where the work you do has a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
