About the role

We are looking for a practical, reliable and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Hours

Flexible working hours are available, with some flexibility around start and finish times to suit the needs of the successful applicant and the department.

Salary

Depending on relevant experience, the pay scale is H3 (£26,427) - H5 (£30, 515) plus Fringe Allowance (£753), pro rata, term time only.

Responsibilities
Maintaining and organising the Design Technology workshop and equipment.
Carrying out stock checks and keeping materials and supplies organised.
Preparing materials, tools and equipment for lessons and practical activities.
Supporting staff and students with practical workshop requirements.
Ensuring the workshop is kept clean, safe and well organised.
Supporting the use of CAD/CAM equipment and software.

Experience
Previous experience working in a workshop or Design Technology workshop environment would be desirable.

Experience with workshop maintenance, stock taking and material preparation is desirable.

Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Skills
Practical and hands-on.
Organised and reliable.
Confident using computers and willing to develop their digital skills.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Committed to maintaining a safe and positive workshop environment.
Flexible and willing to support the changing needs of the Design Technology department.
