About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team from September 2025 who has previous experience of covering classes.
The role involves working across the school - EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will be teaching a class of children while the Teacher is released for their Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time. You may also be required to cover a class if the Teacher is off school.
You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons, to mark the work at the end of the session and feedback to the Teacher.
When you are not covering a class, you will be working alongside the Teachers in class to support individual children and groups.
The role is 32.5 hours per week (8.30 - 4pm with an hour for lunch). This role is a fixed term contract until 23rd July 2026 in the first instance.
Oughton Primary and Nursery School is committed to rigorous safeguarding procedures. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS clearance and must be eligible to work in the UK.
