Position: Finance & Payroll Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Salary Range: H4 £25,183 FTE - salary will be subject to pro-rata
Working Pattern: Term time only + 1 week + 5 INSET days
Responsible to: Finance Manager & Finance/Payroll Manager
The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and dedicated Finance & Payroll Assistant to join our Finance Team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the smooth running of our school’s financial and payroll operations. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and Payroll Manager to ensure financial accuracy, compliance with regulations and efficient processing of payroll. Main Responsibilities:

Financial Processing: Raising purchase orders, processing invoices, handling payments, liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate records of income and expenditure.

Payroll Administration: Assisting with the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate input of overtime and absence data and supporting payroll reconciliation.

Financial Support: Answering queries, processing incoming mail and deliveries and assisting with the school’s trip accounts and student fundraising efforts.
Key Skills & Experience:

Experience in financial administration and processing

Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills

Ability to work flexibly and communicate effectively with staff, students and suppliers

Knowledge of payroll processes (desirable but not essential)

A proactive and professional approach to tasks
