Food Technology Teacher (Part-Time, Fixed-Term)

Contract: Fixed term until August 2026
Working Days: 2 days per week (negotiable working days)
The Saint John Henry Newman School is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our team from September 2025 on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This role is ideal for a teacher looking for flexible working hours and an opportunity to contribute to an outstanding school community.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will:

Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4/5.

Support the development and delivery of the department’s schemes of work.

Undertake both formative and summative assessments in line with department policy.

Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to school-wide data collection.

Participate in departmental training, INSET days, and extra-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities

Liaise with parents as required, including at Parent Consultation Evenings.

Implement departmental policies on rewards, sanctions, and communication.

Support and, where appropriate, help organise school trips and extracurricular activities.

Uphold high standards of discipline and student welfare, following school procedures.

Mark and assess students’ work regularly in line with school policy.

Monitor student progress and address underachievement proactively.

Contribute to departmental self-evaluation and school improvement initiatives.
