About the role
Thank you for your interest in joining our school community! We’re excited to be looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our welcoming School Office Team as our Finance Officer.
This is a part-time, permanent role for 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 10 additional days worked during the school holiday. The ideal work pattern is 8.30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. This includes a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
We understand that flexibility can make all the difference, so we’re happy to discuss alternative working patterns for the right candidate. The additional days worked in the school holidays are usually focused on year-end tasks (April) and preparing for a new term (August).
As part of our community, you’ll also have access to our Breakfast Club (7.45 to 8.45 am) and After School Club (3.15 to 6 pm) at staff rates.
You will be able to demonstrate:
financial experience gained in either a school or corporate environment
experience of working with a wide range of software packages
excellent administration skills
strong communication skills
good teamwork
attention to detail
Key aspects of the role include:
posting income and expenditure on to the school’s general account including monthly procedures
management of the school’s fund account including month end and year end procedures
administration of school lettings
administration of nursery extended care (including the 30 hours scheme), lunch club and dinner money, etc
ensuring all money is banked and income records are maintained
We are:

a spacious, well-resourced, popular and over-subscribed school.
The post holder will use several different specialist software packages (e.g. Arbor Finance and Arbor). Although a working knowledge of these would be beneficial it is not essential, as long as you are able to demonstrate good IT skills, i.e. have a working knowledge of other management information or financial management packages, and Microsoft Office. Training and support will be provided.
The salary quoted is the part-time equivalent and is dependent on experience.
